IMMEDIATE RELEASE, The Wellesley Townsman, December 18,
2008 To the Editor: On behalf of the Wellesley High School Preservation Committee I wish to convey our appreciation to the many citizens of Wellesley who voted no in the election on December 9th and who supported and encouraged us throughout the campaign. Approximately 3,000 votes or 36% of the vote were cast against the proposal. The 64% in favor is a far cry from the 91% approval vote coming from the Special Town Meeting in October. To us, it represents a number of increasing concerns that the residents have with this project. The WHS Preservation Committee will continue to meet and monitor the ongoing critical issues regarding the high school building project.
